OKLAHOMA AMERICAN VETERAN NEWS (OAVN)
We know that we have collected (with your help) more than $200,000 in
coupons to share. We apologize that we don't have the manpower to allow
us to continue tallying every coupon, like we were doing in the beginning. We appreciate what you are doing to help us continue with this project!
UPDATE: Great things are happening!
EXPIRED
COUPONS CAN HELP FEED HUNGRY LITTLE TUMMIES!
Imagine living on an overseas
military base where few jobs
are available for spouses. As a "one income" family the higher cost of living
puts a strain on your finances. Thus, what
to feed your children until
payday becomes a real challenge.
Wouldn't you agree that
children going hungry is something that should NEVER be
a concern for our troops?
AN INEXPENSIVE WAY YOU
CAN HELP Expired coupons may
appear worthless to you. However, those same expired coupons can help stretch the food
budget of overseas military
families struggling to make ends meet every month.
Manufacturer's grocery
coupons are accepted at overseas military commissaries for up to six
months past their printed expiration date! (Due to time in transit and processing once there by volunteers to get them out to families we have been asked to send them no more
than 1 month expired.) If you send them to OAVN to re-mail please send current ones or those no more than 2 weeks expired to allow us time to sort, box and deliver to the post office. (A dollar or two to help defray postage expense is very appreciated.)
Unexpired manufacturer's coupons
can also be used to help families living in
the U.S. When a parent is deployed
the other parent is left behind to stretch
every dollar, as far as possible. This may mean that the
family doesn't have the
extra funds to buy the Sunday paper to obtain grocery coupons. Current manufacturers
coupons that you won't be using are happily
accepted.
There
are also Veterans here in the U.S. who could use a helping hand yet do
not wish to ask for help at a food pantry. Because so many people
use grocery coupons your coupons can provide the extra help needed without
anyone being embarrassed.
Hence, grocery
coupons from your Sunday paper are invaluable for many military
families. Sharing manufacturers
coupons can make a big difference!
Please remind
co-workers, family and friends to not put their coupons into the recycle bin. Maybe you don't
take
the newspaper, yet still want to help. Coupons come in the mid week ads and those could be used by those needing them.
HOW TO GET THE COUPONS TO FAMILIES

EXPIRED COUPONS (Over two weeks expired) please mail them directly to the overseas military
base at one of
these updated addresses.
Those serving today are our Veterans of tomorrow. Thank you for joining with us to support both today's and tomorrows
